The œuvre of the German artist Sandra Mann is characterized by a sensitive eye for detail. In a diary-like manner, she creates a visual and powerfully symbolic document that captures the specific features of everyday life without any documentary claims. Nevertheless the resulting visual document can be tracked down by the inherent statement of the date, the image number, and the place in the work title. By placing the individual photographs together, the artist creates relationships between the images, bringing motifs, colors, and contents next to each other and creating sometimes unexpected and sometimes even humorous correspondences. In accordance with this free dramaturgy, for this exhibition the artist has brought about eighty digital photos together, which involve the associations of people with the topics of beauty, fashion, and consumption and which were mostly made in the fashion metropolises of Rome, Milan, Paris, and New York. The photos, projected synchronously onto two walls, give witness through their dialogue to the precise and (social-) critical thinking of the artist and can be read as a kind of visual chain of associations. The natural and snapshot quality of the photographs results in part from the simplicity of the technical equipment Sandra Mann uses for her works. Although her artistic emphasis is primarily on photography, she also works in the fields of sculpture, video, installation, and artistic intervention. In addition, since 2009 this qualified art historian and artist, a graduate from the Design University in Offenbach am Main, has been running the photo class at the AVA Academy of Visual Arts in the Frankfurt Academy for Communication und Design.

Das Œuvre der deutschen Künstlerin Sandra Mann zeichnet sich durch einen feinsinnigen Blick auf Details aus. In tagebuchartiger Manier hält sie mit ihrer kleinen Digitalkamera die Besonderheiten des Alltäglichen fest und erschafft dadurch, ohne einen dokumentarischen Anspruch zu verfolgen, ein visuelles und symbolkräftiges Dokument unserer Zeit, das sich durch die Angabe des Datums, der Bildnummer und des Ortes im Werktitel sowohl zeitlich als auch räumlich verorten lässt. Durch die Zusammenstellung der einzelnen Fotografien stellt die Künstlerin Beziehungen zwischen den Bildern her. Sie bringt Motive, Farben und Inhalt zusammen und erschafft teils unerwartete und manchmal auch komisch wirkende Korrespondenzen. Dieser freien Dramaturgie entsprechend, stellte Sandra Mann für die Ausstellung eine Auswahl von achtzig Digitalfotos zusammen, die sich mit dem Verhältnis des Menschen zu den Themen Schönheit, Mode und Konsum auseinandersetzen und größtenteils in den Modemetropolen Rom, Mailand, Paris und New York entstanden sind. Die auf zwei Wänden synchron projizierten Fotos zeugen durch ihre dialogische Zusammenstellung vom präzisen und (sozial)kritischen Denken der Künstlerin und können als eine Art visuelle Assoziationskette gelesen werden. Die Natürlichkeit und der schnappschussartige Charakter der Fotografien resultieren unter anderem auch aus der Einfachheit des technischen Equipments, das Sandra Mann für ihre Arbeiten verwendet. Obwohl ihr künstlerischer Schwerpunkt primär in der Fotografie angesiedelt ist, arbeitet sie auch noch in den Bereichen der Skulptur, des Videos, der Installation und der künstlerischen Intervention. Zudem leitet die studierte Kunsthistorikerin, die ihre Kunstausbildung an der Hochschule für Gestaltung in Offenbach am Main absolviert hat, seit 2009 die Fotoklasse an der AVA Academy of Visual Arts an der Frankfurter Akademie für Kommunikation und Design.
